How is the cost calculated?

Rated power in watts is converted to kilowatts, then multiplied by the time used in hours. That gives an estimated kWh figure for one use.

kWh per use = (Watts ÷ 1,000) × (Minutes ÷ 60)
Cost per use = kWh per use × Electricity price

This is a simple estimate. Appliances with thermostats or variable power may draw less than their maximum rated wattage for part of the time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is an air fryer always cheaper than an oven?

Not always. Cost depends on wattage, cooking time, food quantity and oven efficiency. The calculator lets you compare your own numbers.

Where is air fryer wattage shown?

Check the rating label, manual or manufacturer specification page.

Should I include preheat time?

Yes, if your model or recipe uses a preheat stage, add it to the cooking minutes.
